Despite being one of the smallest and youngest capitals in Europe, Ljubljana is well known for its rich medieval heritage, as well as a wonderful selection of Renaissance, baroque and art nouveau buildings. We take a guided tour of the city with time to explore independently, before our journey continues to the pretty alpine town of Kranjska Gora.Day 5 Kranjska Gora - Planica - Triglav National Park. Enjoy a short sightseeing visit of Kranjska Gora, an unspoiled mountain village. We visit Planica, an alpine valley and one of the world%u2019s best Nordic ski centres; and Zelenci NatureReserve. We continue through the village of Mojstana and into Vrata. Pericnik Waterfallis one of today%u2019s highlights.Day 6 Kranjska Gora. Today is free to relax in Kranjska Gora. Alternatively, join an optional excursion to one of Slovenia%u2019s icons - Lake Bled. Later, visit Bohinj Lake, Slovenia%u2019s largest natural lake. After a scenic journey through Bohinj Valley, you can either take a short climb for Savica Waterfall, or take a cable car to Mount Vogel.Day 7 Bovec - Stanjel - Portoro%u017e. We head to the Slovenian coast, through the dramatic Trenta Valley and the breathtaking hairpin bends of the Predil Pass (some 1,611m above sea level) to the small town of Bovec. We travel through the Karst region, an intriguing limestone plateau, pausing for lunch at the beautiful stone village of Stanjel. Our journey concludes in the coastal town of Portoro%u017e.Day 8 Piran. Explore the Slovenian coast this morning as we sail to Piran. Spend the afternoon at leisure in Portoro%u017e.Day 9 Portoro%u017e. Spend your day in the %u2018Port of Roses%u2019, a modern town which has been a spa destination since the 13th century. Alternatively, take an optional visit to magnificent Postojna Cave. On your return, stop in Trieste for a stroll through the Italian streets.Day 10 Portoro%u017e - Ljubljana - UK. Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
